This heat pump system (300) is provided with: a refrigerant circuit (15) which has a refrigerant flow passage through which a refrigerant flows and a heating medium flow passage through which a heating medium flows, and in which the refrigerant flow passage of a refrigerant-heating medium heat-exchanger (4) for carrying out heat-exchanging on the refrigerant and the heating medium is connected to a heat source-side heat exchanger (8); and a heating medium circuit to which the heating medium flow passage is connected. The heat pump system (300) includes: a heating operation mode in which the refrigerant-heating medium heat-exchanger (4) heats the heating medium; and a defrosting operation mode in which the heat source-side heat exchanger (8) is heated to remove frost adhering to the heat source-side heat exchanger (8), wherein the flow velocity of the heating medium flowing through the heating medium circuit in the defrosting operation mode is made slower than that in the heating operation mode. |
