The invention relates to a parking system comprising a car park having a plurality of parking spaces for parking motor vehicles, wherein in the parking system a motor vehicle can be steered autonomously along a track between a parking area and one of the parking spaces. A checking method for the parking system comprises steps of the autonomous travel of a test vehicle along the track, determining whether the travel over the distance was carried out correctly, and releasing the parking system for use by vehicles which correspond to the vehicle type of the test vehicle. |
