摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: when one robot is provided with plural bands, adjacent hands interfere with a workbench, and if the hands are spaced a wider distance apart to avoid the interference, the required space increases.SOLUTION: An automated assembly apparatus comprises: an assembly robot having plural hands which are disposed in parallel and movable in both X- and Y-axis directions; and plural workbenches which comprise Z-axis moving means and are movable in a Z-axis direction by the Z-axis moving means. An independent work area is provided for each of the plural workbenches, wherein the width of a predetermined work area among the work areas is larger than the width that allows the plural hands to enter, the widths of work areas other than the predetermined work area are smaller than the width that allows at least part of the plural hands to enter, and the hand which performs a job in the predetermined work area is disposed lowest in the Z-axis direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
