Provided are an apparatus and method for device-to-device bidirectional data transmission in a wireless local area network (WLAN), so as to prevent stations of two communication parties from a communication conflict in the process of device-to-device bidirectional data transmission. The method in the present invention comprises: a first station determines a main station in the process of device-to-device bidirectional data transmission between the first station and a second station; the main station acquires a resource used for data transmission between the main station and the second station from an access point, and divides the resource into a first resource and a second resource, wherein the first resource is used for the main station to transmit data to the second station, and the second resource is used for the second station to transmit data to the main station; and the main station sends a notification message to the second station, wherein the notification message is used for notifying the second station of receiving data transmitted by the main station on the first resource and transmitting data to the main station on the second resource.
