A tube is cut in a milling cutter (100) with circular saw blade (127,129) rotating about a spindle axis (115,132). The blade is forcibly guided on a circuit (125) about a rotary axis (112) parallel to the spindle axis. The tube (107) to be cut is clamped, with both axis parallel and at a distance to each other, tube and cutter with blade are moved towards each other until rotary axis and tube axis (124) are aligned, and the cutter blade is moved along the circuit at high speed abou the tube, until its wall is cut.
