BROADCAST SYSTEM AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten download time by efficiently using data broadcast streams and return channels for downloading application when a data broadcast receiving terminal receives data broadcast.

SOLUTION: The terminal receives a data broadcast stream during one broadcast sending out period for sending and receiving broadcast data (S302). When there is deficient section data in the received data broadcast stream (NO in S304), the deficient section data is requested on a two-way communication server through the return channel (S308). When the server receives the request for the specific section data from the terminal, it transmits the section data to the terminal and the terminal receives the section data (S310). Then after a module is formed by using the deficient section data and the previously received section data and application file is extracted, display is produced on a screen (S312).
