<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support avoiding action adapted to the degree of a risk by collectively determining the degree of a risk of causing an accident with a pedestrian. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing part 11 performs the image processing of an image around a vehicle photographed by an own-vehicle camera 31, and images received by a road-to-vehicle communication device 35 and a vehicle-to-vehicle communication device 36, and then an image recognition part 12 recognizes the presence/absence of the pedestrian. If the pedestrian exists as a result, a risk degree computing part 13 computes a possibility (the degree of risk) of contact between the pedestrian and the own vehicle using the output of a navigation system 20, a speed sensor 32, a radar 33, a raindrop sensor 34, and the like, and a vehicle operation control part 14 controls an engine control device 61, a brake control device 62, a shift control device 63, a steering control device 64, an occupant air bag 65 and a pedestrian air bag 66 to carry out support for vehicle operation corresponding to the degree of risk. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
