REAR SECTION STRUCTURE FOR VEHICLE EQUIPPED WITH CURTAIN AIR BAG DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a rear section pillar trim from being damaged by a curtain air bag to be expanded and developed.

SOLUTION: A front section pillar trim PT3 and the rear section pillar trim PT4 which are positioned in front of and behind a side window glass G3 are respectively made harder than a roof trim RT. A curtain air bag KB which is fixed to a rear section pillar P4 is developed into the cabin while deforming a specified end edge section 26a on the external side in the vehicle width direction of the front section of the rear section pillar trim PT4 to the front side. A clearance in the vehicle width direction between the curtain air bag KB under a housed state and the side window glass G3 is set to be L1 (L2) at a section going along the rear edge section of the side window glass G3, and set to be L4 at a section being close to the front section pillar trim PT3 of the upper edge section of the side window glass G3, and a relation of L1(L2)COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
