PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for achieving stable connection switching even when a hardware/software environment is an arbitrary different environment at the origin of shift and the destination of shift is an arbitrary different environment in a system where a host and a storage are connected through a network. SOLUTION: This storage includes a function for transmitting a message to request reconnection after disconnecting connection once to a host and a function for, when receiving the message of reconnection from the host, transmitting a message showing that the connection has been moved to the other storage and the address information of the movement destination, and configured to perform control to transmit the movement message after the completion of the reconnection request by using those messages as a series of processing.
