PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video/sound apparatus which has inexpensive manufacturing cost and causes no leading portion missing when selecting an external memory. SOLUTION: The video/sound apparatus includes storage data of external memory 6 as one source and selects and reproduces a signal obtained by reading the storage data of the external memory 6, wherein a main controller 1 notifies the completion of GUI part 3 selection operation by signal line 4 for data communication connecting the GUI part 3 connected to the external memory 6 to read and control the storage data of the external memory 6 and the main controller 1, the GUI part 3 starts to read the storage data of the external memory 6 after receiving the notification and transmits a signal generated from data read from the external memory 6 to the main controller 1 by the signal line 4 for data communication.
