PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control rod for a nuclear reactor which enables the improvement in reliability by making the high-temperature strength, corrosion resistance and resistance to IASCC higher than ever to restrain the appearance of cracking and the like. SOLUTION: In the control rod 1 for the nuclear reactor, at least any of a sheath 3, a tie rod 4, a head 5 and a handle 6 is composed of austenitic stainless steel whose average crystal grain size ranges between 0.1μm and 10μm inclusive.
