PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder having an inexpensive and effective ink mist stain prevention mechanism by narrowing an ink mist stain prevention target to an data accessing section important for an optical disk and a magnetic disk, a control method for the image recorder, and a program. SOLUTION: The image recorder of the present invention is provided with: a recording section for recording an image by ejecting ink to a label surface of a recording medium with the label surface for recording the image; and a data access section for reading and writing digital data to a data access surface of a recording medium with the data access surface for storing the digital data.
