<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolled electrode battery allowing a large current to be extracted, and miniaturizable; and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: This rolled electrode battery is provided with: a rolled electrode body 14 formed into a flat shape by rolling strip-like positive electrode plate and negative electrode plate each having an electrode active material layer formed thereon by interposing a strip-like separator therebetween; and a case 10 provided with a positive electrode terminal 20 and a negative electrode terminal 22 with the electrode body and an electrolyte housed therein. Each of the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate includes a strip-like electrode part with an electrode active material layer contacting the separator formed thereon, and a side edge part which projects from the separator on one side in the axial direction of the electrode body, and on which the electrode active material layer is not formed. In the side edge parts, by forming a plurality of projecting parts arranged at intervals along the longitudinal directions of each of the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate, and by stacking and rolling the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate, the plurality of projecting parts of the positive electrode plate are stacked on one another to form a positive electrode tab 16, and the plurality of projecting parts of the negative electrode plate are stacked on one another to form a negative electrode tab 18. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
