A system and a method thereof for automatically controlling the reverse gain of the relay and effectively performing a communication network operation are provided to minimize the effects which the reverse gain adjustment process reaches communication. A reverse receive sensitivity measuring unit(110) measures the reverse direction receive sensitivity of a relay. A reverse gain control unit(120) controls the reverse gain of the relay so that the measured reverse direction receive sensitivity be in accord with the predetermined reverse receive sensitivity reference. The reverse gain controlling unit sets up the reverse gain of the relay before controlling the reverse gain of relay. The predetermined reverse direction receives sensitivity standard is set up according to the output of the relay.
