<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen producing apparatus which can prevent the decrease in a catalyst activity accompanied by the stop of the apparatus and can stably produce good-quality hydrogen. <P>SOLUTION: The hydrogen producing apparatus comprises a reforming temperature measuring section 3 which detects a temperature at a reforming reaction section 2 at the start time of a stopping operation of the apparatus (step S2), and a control section 9 having a treatment control section 61 which compares a first to fourth standard temperatures memorized beforehand in a memory section 62 with the detected temperature so that the treatment control section determines which one of the following states the temperature state of the apparatus at a standstill corresponds to : a first state wherein water condensation occurs; a second state which can avoid water condensation and carbon deposition; a third state wherein carbon deposition occurs; a fourth state wherein a disproportionation reaction occurs and a fifth state wherein catalyst oxidation occurs. Thereafter, according to the determined result, the apparatus chooses appropriately a suitable setting among first to fifth displacement settings which are set previously at the control section 9 responding to each of the first to fifth states, and conducts the gas displacement inside the apparatus according to the setting (step S3-11). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
