PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device, an image display device and an optical unit that enable suppression of heat generation from a light emitting body emitting visible light.SOLUTION: A light source device according to one embodiment of the present art comprises one or more light sources, a light emitting body and a light shield unit. The one or more light sources emit excitation light. The light emitting body has an incidence surface upon which the excitation light from the one or more light sources is incident, and emits visible light excited by the incident excitation light. The light shield unit is arranged so as to cover a partial area of the incidence surface, and shields incidence of the excitation light upon the partial area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 |
