PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater which can avoid the risk of failure occurrence due to fine leakage of an automatic shutoff valve when a flow of hot water pouring stops despite the hot water being poured, in the case where the automatic shutoff valve is provided in a bathtub which automatically shutting off when hot water pouring is performed with respect to an empty bathtub.SOLUTION: When it is detected that a detection flow rate has dropped below a lowest operation flow rate, despite hot water pouring being executed, it is determined that an automatic shutoff valve of a bathtub has automatically shut off as a result of hot water pouring having been performed with respect to an empty bathtub, and firstly, the determination whether or not fine leakage has occurred to the automatic shutoff valve is performed on the basis of output information from a water supply flow rate sensor (S20). When there is fine leakage, without performing re-try processing for determining presence/absence of failure occurrence regarding a hot water pouring solenoid valve (S21-S24), forced stop of hot water pouring control (S26) and error notification (S27) are performed immediately.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
