PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing technique capable of forming a fine unit pattern shape designed intricately and optionally in a short time with high accuracy on the surface of a metal material on the basis of a new production science principle.SOLUTION: A fine processing method comprises the steps of: printing a carbon-containing ink 12 by a predetermined pattern on the surface of a die material 10 consisting of stainless steel according to previously prepared CAD data to form a mask; subjecting the surface of the die material 10 to plasma nitriding treatment to form a cured layer 16 in a portion except a mask formation part; and subjecting the surface of the die material 10 to blasting treatment to remove the mask to form a recessed part 42 having a shape corresponding to the mask pattern in a portion except the cured layer 16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
