PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and efficient method for producing a compound having two aliphatic epoxy groups bound by a saturated hydrocarbon group without necessity of treating transition metals and magnesium salt wastes, the compound being able to form a cured material having extremely excellent thermal characteristics upon curing.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a saturated diepoxy compound comprising converting a carbon-carbon double bond contained in an unsaturated diepoxy compound represented by formula (1) into a saturated hydrocarbon chain by using hydrazine under an atmosphere containing oxygen.
