STEEL WIRE ROD AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING STEEL FOR THE SAME

摘要

A steel wire rod wherein an average composition of an oxide of not less than 2 .mu.m in width in a longitudinal section thereof inlcudes not less than 70 wt.% of SiO2, less than 20 wt.% of CaO+Al2O3 and 0.1-10 wt.% of ZrO2, this wire rod being excellent in cold workability, such as wire drawing workability; a steel wire manufactured by using this wire rod as a raw material having a high fatigue strength.
