<p>A passenger conveyor capable of reducing a step direction converting space to reduce an installation space and also smoothly performing a step direction converting operation between forward and backward movements of the steps, comprising a plurality of steps (5) circulatingly moving with the tread thereof facing upward in forward movement and facing downward in backward movement, a step chain (12) endlessly connecting these plurality of steps (5) to each other, and a drive sprocket (13) and a driven sprocket (14) circulatingly moving the step chain (12) passed around the forward and backward movement direction converting parts thereof, wherein the steps (5) are connected to the step chain (12) through crank mechanisms (8, 24, 25).</p> |
