PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver salt photothermographic dry imaging material capable of retaining high sensitivity and low fog even after long-term storage. SOLUTION: In the silver salt photothermographic dry imaging material containing a photographic emulsion containing non-photosensitive silver aliphatic-carboxylate grains and photosensitive silver halide grains, a silver ion reducing agent, a water-soluble binder and a crosslinking agent, the photosensitive silver halide grains contain at least one of the compounds represented by formula (C-1) and formula (C-2). Thus, a silver salt photothermographic dry imaging material for a laser imager and for image setter output film is obtained which has high sensitivity, low fog and high maximum density, is excellent also in silver tone and image preservability, and has good environmental stability in development and good storage stability before processing, and an imaging method is provided.
