<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide silicon carbide brick having excellent strength and thermal shock resistance and useful as a refractory for a part of a waste incinerator, a non-ferrous metal shaft furnace, a cement kiln cooler or the like which requires mechanical strength. <P>SOLUTION: The silicon carbide brick having high strength and excellent thermal shock resistance is obtained by using silicon carbide raw material as a main raw material and adding a chromia-containing raw material such as chromium oxide, picrochromite, chromium ore or electrofused magnesium-chromium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
