<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cool-storing and heat-storing medium composition which is useful as a heat insulator for human bodies/pet animals, plants, aquatic animal cisterns, and fresh food/cake storage, is economically inexpensive, has good heat insulation, and is friendly for environments. <P>SOLUTION: This cool-storing and heat-storing medium composition contains ethylene carbonate (1,3-dioxolan-2-one) as a main component, and a small amount of substance which is dissolved together in the ethylene carbonate in arbitrary ratios at ≥36.4°C and promotes the solidification of the main component at an approximately constant temperature, when the mixture is cooled. The substance includes water, ethylene glycol and ethanol. When a substance (for example, sucrose in the case of water) for reducing activity as a solvent for these liquids is added, a storage temperature is easily set, and a substance having excellent storage efficiency can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
