摘要 <p>#CMT# #/CMT# Polymer dispersion in an organic medium comprises polymerization product of a vinyl monomer in the presence of a radicalizing initiator and in an organic dispersion medium. #CMT# : #/CMT# Independent claims are included for: (1) the preparation of dispersion; (2) bonding and primer compositions to coat glass fiber and glass yarn, respectively comprising the dispersion; and (3) a glass yarn comprising the glass fiber. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# The dispersion is useful in binding and primer compositions to coat glass fiber and glass yarn, respectively. The (glass yarn) assembly is present in network or fabric form (claimed) to manufacture composite material. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The dispersion: improves adhesion between glass and the matrix of the composite material; and improves the mechanical properties of the composite material. #CMT#POLYMERS : #/CMT# Preparation (Claimed): Preparation comprises mixing a vinyl monomer, a radicalizing initiator and the organic dispersion medium to form a mixture and reacting the mixture at 20[deg]C and below the boiling point of the mixture. Preferred Process: The process is carried out at >= 40[deg]C, preferably up to 60[deg]C. The process further comprises adding redox initiator, the temperature of reaction does not exceed 40/oC, preferably does not exceed 30[deg]C; and adding the stabilizing agent at 35 wt.%, preferably up to 20 wt.%. Preferred Composition: The dispersion further comprises stabilizing agent. Preferred Components: The difference of the polymer solubility parameter (delta t p) and the dispersion medium solubility parameter (delta t m) is >=4, preferably >=5. The vinyl monomer is vinyl acetate, vinyl propionate, butyl acrylate, octyl acrylate, lauryl acrylate or N-vinyl pyrrolidone. The organic dispersion medium is: silicone comprising an epoxy group, preferably with at least two terminal positions e.g. poly(alkylsiloxanes) with glycidyl at terminal end; or polyols derivatives or (un)saturated cyclic hydrocarbons. The silicone is present in a formula (I). The molecular weight of silicone is 450-4000 mol.wt, preferably 600-3000 mol.wt. The polyol is: diols e.g. ethylene glycol, 1,2-propane diol, 1,4-butane diol, 1,6-hexanediol or cyclohexane dimethanol; triols e.g. glycerol or 1,2,4-butanetriol; and/or tetrol e.g. (penta)erythritol. The polymer is present fine particle shape, preferably spherical in shape of size less than 40 mu m, preferably less than 3 mu m. The diameter of the particles is 0.05-3 mu m. The polymer is present at 20-70 wt.%, preferably 40-60 wt.%. The vinyl monomer is of formula CH 2=C(X)(Y1). The stabilizing agent is alkylene oxide copolymer e.g. copolymers of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide, polymers of alkylene oxide and polymerizable monomer e.g. styrene and alkyl (meth)acrylate, vinyl alcohol polymers, silicone polymers e.g. poly(alkylsiloxanes) with (meth)acrylic terminals. The initiator is thermally active at the reaction temperature, preferably below 10[deg]C than the boiling point the mixture. The initiator is an azo peroxide or hydroperoxide compound. The initiator is present at 0.5-6 wt.%, preferably 1-4 wt.% to the weight vinyl of monomer. The volume ratio of vinyl monomer to medium is up to 70:30, preferably 30:70. Preferred Properties: The dispersion has a viscosity less than 2000 mPas, preferably 30-1000 mPas. X : 1-18C alkyl, aryl (preferably phenyl (optionally having 1-4C alkyl, preferably phenyl is tolyl)), or 7-10C arylalkyl (preferably benzyl), OR or -[-R 1-(CH 2) m] z-[R 2-(CH 2) n] t-H (where Y1 is H or 1-4C alkyl), OCOR1 (where Y1 is H), COOR2 (where Y1 is H or methyl) or cyclopentanonyl, pyridinyl, pyridin-2-yl or pyridin-3-yl hetero cyclic compounds (where Y1 is hydrogen); R : 1-15 alkyl or 5-8C cyclo akyl; R 1, R 2 : H, CH 3 or ethyl; m, n : 1-4 (preferably 3-4); either z, t : greater 4; or z+t : 80; R1 : 1-12C (preferably 1-4C) alkyl, 5-8C cyclo alkyl (preferably cylclohexyl), aryl (preferably phenyl); R2 : 4-20C alkyl, 6-20C (preferably 4-12C) cyclo alkyl, aryl (preferably phenyl), 6-20C arylalkyl (preferably benzyl); n1 : 3-45 (preferably 10-30); and m2 : 1-20. #CMT#[Image]#/CMT#.</p>
