PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcasting receiver for appropriately performing the processing of releasing and acquiring a memory for a plurality of storage areas to be used by an application for displaying the content of broadcasting. SOLUTION: When a display program is changed, the middleware 43 of the digital broadcasting receiver 1 judges whether or not the application before the change and the application after the change are the same for each storage area, and performs control so as to release the storage area used by the application before the change and acquire it for the application after the change when the application after the change is different from the application before the change as the result of the judgement and so as not to release the storage area used by the application program before the change when the application after the change is the same as the application before the change or there is no application to be used after the change.
