PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device and its driving method capable of reducing the size and cost by impressing negative pulse with the same size as a sustaining voltage, by enabling to use a planer discharge mode at the time of impressing of negative pulse with the same size as sustaining voltage to a sustaining electrode for a reset period so that there is no need to provide another negative voltage source. SOLUTION: The plasma display device includes a scanning electrode as well as a sustaining electrode, and a pulse control part impressing scanning pulse having a ramp-up wave to the scanning electrode, and impressing negative polarity pulse having the same size as sustaining pulse for sustaining discharge to the sustaining electrode for a setup period of a reset period.
