<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas phase catalytic oxidation process which inhibits an increase of pressure loss while maintaining a high yield to enable a stable continuous operation over a long period in carrying out gas phase catalytic oxidation reaction, particularly a process for producing (meth)acrylic acid. <P>SOLUTION: In carrying out gas phase catalytic oxidation reaction, a fixed bed reactor in which a treating agent having an organic substance adsorption using crotonaldehyde as an index for removing organic substances and/or carbonized substances, of not less than 0.05 mass% is arranged upstream of a gas phase oxidation catalyst layer in the gas flow direction is used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
