PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of further improving presentment effect and capable of intuitive, easy operation and display, by enhancing the synchronization of a direct view image and a floating image. SOLUTION: The image display device displays a floating picture P2 onto an imaging plane 30 via an image transmission panel 20, and displays a direct view image onto the image display screen of a display section 40. The image display device exerts control such that if a body F being detected touches an object displayed on the image display screen of the display section 40 and then moves apart from the image display screen, the floating picture P2 corresponding to the touched object is extended and displayed from the displayed position of the touched object so as to be separated from the image display screen and also the displayed floating picture P2 follows the track of the object F being detected.
