The invention relates to a magnetic filter for filtering, in an extracorporeal circuit, the blood toxin-bearing functionalized magnetic support microparticles, which had been previously injected into the human blood circuit. According to the invention, the filter comprises a battery of filtering cells, each cell consisting of a cylinder-shaped ferromagnetic wire (1) and two cylinder-shaped conduits (2 and 2') mounted with their axes in the same plane, the filtering cells being placed in a uniform magnetic field generated by two permanent magnets (3 and 3'), whose field lines (4) are perpendicular to the ferromagnetic wires (1), in planes parallel to the axes of the adjacent conduits (2 and 2'), the extracorporeal blood circulation being achieved by means of a double-lumen catheter for arterial or venous vascular access and a short pre-sterilized and heparinized tube-line forming a closed circuit, where the blood flow rate is about 40 ml/min, thereby allowing the total volume of human blood to be circulated in a time period of about 150 min.
|
