FILM, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, POLARIZING PLATE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a film by which a thin film exhibiting ≥45 nm Re (in-plane retardation) can be easily produced with high productivity.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the film comprises the steps of: supplying a molten resin containing a thermoplastic resin from a supply means; making the supplied melt pass between a first nip pressing plane and a second nip pressing plane which constitute a nip pressing device, and continuously molding the passing melt into the film; and conveying the molded film. The melt is nip pressed between the first nip pressing plane and the second nip pressing plane under 10-150 MPa and the molded film is conveyed at 10-100 m/minute.
