PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of reutilizing the crystallization heat of a phase transition layer when electric power is supplied again after the end of inspection work even when a need for the inspection work occurs. SOLUTION: This image forming device has a fixing roller provided with the phase transition layer which allows phase transition between an amorphous phase and a crystalline phase on an arbor as well as a heater 28 and cooling fan 29 for causing the phase transition of the phase transition layer to the amorphous phase or the crystalline phase and disables an image forming operation when an inspection request state requiring the inspection work is attained. The image forming device is provided with a control section 42 to amorphatize the phase transition layer by operating the heater 28 or the cooling fan 29 when the inspection request state is attained. |
