<p>An air filtration system (55) for an internal combustion engine wherein the air filter (56) has an exit orifice (64) for sealingly engaging the air intake duct (66) of a carburetor via a friction-fit. The friction-fit provides an integrated seal between the orifice (64) and duct (66). The friction-fit can be provided by a plurality of ridges formed along the interior surface of the orifice or by decreasing the cross-sectional area of the orifice. Decreasing the cross-sectional area of the orifice is accomplished by providing a plurality of stepped diameters of a bottom surface material or a surface that conically slopes inward towards the cavity. In addition, the air filter can be secured to a platform of an engine by holding arm (70) having a hook shaped distal end with a catch (80) that can be disengaged by pulling at a grip.</p> |
