PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorizing and gas-sucking paper material excellent in wasting property, adsorbing, decomposing, deodorizing or decomposing and eliminating smell or gas from a housed or packaged material or adjusting moisture, and capable of maintaining the housed or packaged material well for a long period. SOLUTION: This deodorizing and gas-sucking paper is constituted by coating a coated layer formed by a water soluble coating material consisting of a natural rubber or synthetic rubber latex, an artificial zeolite having≤50μm mean particle diameter,≥100 m<SP>2</SP>/g specific surface area and≥200 mg base exchange volume (meq/100 g) and a foaming agent selected from potassium oleate and ammonium stearate, having a continuous bubble structure and many vaporization holes and having substantially≥10 g/m<SP>2</SP>coated weight rate of the artificial zeolite.
