PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain coated paper for printing use whose white paper gloss is comparable to that of coated paper for ordinarily printing use, having high print gloss, and excellent in opacity, bulkiness and printability. SOLUTION: The coated paper for printing use is obtained by providing both sides of a sheet of base paper with coating layers each comprising an adhesive and a pigment prepared by compounding 100 pts.wt. of a pigment with 4-10 pts.wt. of an organic pigment 0.2-0.4μm in particle size with a glass transition temperature of≥50°C but lower than 100°C followed by carrying out a surface-smoothing treatment.
