<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute a laser angioplasty under simultaneous supervision by optical coherence tomography (OCT). <P>SOLUTION: In an apparatus for performing the laser angioplasty, a laser beam for plaque removal is radiated through a laser radiation device in a catheter tip range, the supervision by the optical coherence tomography (OCT) is performed simultaneously, and a lead wire for the laser radiation device and an OCT signal line are arranged in a common catheter tube. The OCT signal line is constituted as a rotating OCT signal line, the OCT signal line is led to an OCT sensor arranged on the inner side of an annular window rounding the periphery of the catheter tube, and the OCT sensor is arranged away from the laser radiation device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
