PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deterioration preventing agent for products containing perfume having an excellent quality preserving effect on the products containing perfume, gentle to the environment and human, and to provide a deterioration preventing agent excellent in deterioration preventing effect on the perfume added, formulated to a various kind of products, especially to provide the deterioration preventing agent for products containing alkaline perfume. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the deterioration preventing agent comprising sterols having skeleton represented by formula 1, as the effective ingredient added, formulated to the deterioration preventing agent for various kind of products containing perfume, and the product containing perfume is added, or formulated with the deterioration preventing agent.
