PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating abnormality of nail, hoof or claw. SOLUTION: A composition comprises R-spongin or its variant, derivative, fragment, homologue, paralog, imimetics, or peptidomimetics. The R-spongin is selected from a group consisting of R-spongin 1, R-spongin 2, R-spongin 3 and R-spongin 4. Wnt signal transduction pathway plays an important role in enormous processes in animal development. As a result, a new R-spongin-based element of a protein related to Wnt passage is essential to nail development. Abnormality of nail, etc., is inherited defect selected from a group consisting of congenital anonychia, congenital onychia, cock syndrome, nail-patella syndrome, ectodermal dysplasia and epidermolysis bullosa and abnormality caused by infection selected from a group consisting of bacterium, fungus, yeast, mold and virus, abnormality comprising weakening of nail, etc. or abnormality caused when growth or repair of nail, etc. is slow or absent.
