MEMBRANE ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY AND SOLID POLYMER FUEL CELL
摘要
A membrane electrode assembly characterized in that at least either the catalyst layer of oxygen electrode or the catalyst layer of fuel electrode contains a support bearing a catalytic metal doped with a platinum group element and contains a proton conductive polymer electrolyte and further contains at least one member selected from among (a) complex forming agent having a ligand capable of coordination with an ion of the platinum group element to thereby form a complex, the ligand containing oxygen as a coordinating atom, (b) complex of the platinum group element having a ligand containing oxygen as a coordinating atom and (c) carbon of 100 m2/g or greater BET specific surface area satisfying at least either the requirement (i) of Raman spectrum R-value of 0.5 or less or the requirement (ii) of (002) face plane spacing d002 of 0.35 nm or less, the carbon not bearing the catalytic metal. By the use of this membrane electrode assembly, there can be provided a solid polymer fuel cell of high durability and prolonged life duration.
