PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of preventing damage to an Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) element.SOLUTION: A fixing device comprises a fixing belt, an induction current generating part, a heat generating auxiliary part, a measuring part, and a controlling part. The fixing belt includes a conductive layer. The induction current generating part faces the fixing belt. The induction current generating part includes a first coil for electromagnetically induction-heating the conductive layer. The heat generating auxiliary part faces the induction current generating part with the fixing belt sandwiched between them. The heat generating auxiliary part has a magnetic material having a Curie point lower than that of the conductive layer. The measuring part measures the state of the heat generating auxiliary part. The controlling part performs controlling to reduce the output of the induction current generating part if the heat generating auxiliary part is determined to have exceeded the Curie point, on the basis of a measurement result of the measuring part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
