PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive device capable of achieving miniaturization and long allowable time.SOLUTION: An inverter 20 includes a specific arm 21 formed by connecting, in parallel to each other, a plurality of switching parts forming a current path of a driving current of any one of a plurality of phases. An inverter control part 40 includes: a lock determination part 41 for previously determining whether or not a motor 10 outputs and becomes a lock state for stopping rotation; a lock control part 42 for transiting the rotation of the motor 10 to a lock state with a driving current running through the specific arm 21 when the lock determination part determines a lock state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
