PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately limit input/output power of a secondary battery by highly precisely calculating the amount of heat produced by the secondary battery.SOLUTION: An ECU distinctively calculates an amount of active lithium and an amount of inactive lithium which are deposited to a negative electrode at the inside of a battery (lithium ion secondary battery) on the basis of voltages, currents and temperatures of the battery, and calculates an amount of heat produced by the battery using a result obtained by distinctively calculating an amount of heat due to the amount of active lithium and an amount of heat due to the amount of inactive lithium. The ECU limits inputtable/outputtable power of the battery such that the calculated amount of heat produced by the battery does not exceed a threshold value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
