a metallic composition comprising a particle having a core surrounded by a shell, the core comprising a magnesium alloy and the shell comprising a metallic or ceramic layer not identical to the magnesium alloy, the magnesium alloy comprising magnesium metal alloyed with Al, Cd, Ca, Co, Cu, Fe, K, Li, Mn, Na, Ni, Si, Ag, W, Sb, Sr, Ti, Th, Zn, Zr, or a combination comprising at least one of the foregoing, an inorganic oxide-based polymer, the inorganic oxide-based polymer comprising a plurality of structural repeating units which comprise —(X—O)— where X is Si, Al, P, or a combination comprising at least one of the foregoing, and a solvent. |
