PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printing head with which a wasteful ink consumption can be minimized without decreasing a printer throughput by efficiently removing bubbles generated by printing or other causes. SOLUTION: In the ink jet printing head 42Y comprising a plurality of discharge energy generating elements, an ink discharge orifice 13, a substrate 10 with an ink supply opening 11, a common liquid chamber 17, a discharge orifice plate 12 and an ink flow path 18, an ink supply flow path 3 which communicates with the common liquid chamber 17 and supplies an ink from an ink supply source through a filter 16, an atmosphere communication mechanism for opening the interior of the chamber 17 to an atmospheric pressure and a suction mechanism for sucking the ink by making the internal pressure of the chamber 17 negative. |
