PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a foreign substance from being caught and broken between a backward moving upper rail and a bolt. SOLUTION: The upper rail 2 fixed to a seat is slidably fitted to a lower rail 1 fixed to the floor of a vehicle via a bolt 22, and the seat slide device of a vehicle has a locking mechanism 6 for changing and locking a slide position of the upper rail 2 to the lower rail 1. The front side of the back bolt 22 is provided with a tapered inclined portion 23 of which height becomes substantially the same as the height of the head of the bolt 22 as it goes from the front side toward the bolt 22. Thus a foreign substance pressed by the upper rail 2 is prevented from being caught and broken between the upper rail 2 and the head of the bolt 22. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
