<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge tube unit for a headlamp capable of replacing with an H4 type halogen bulb and changing over a low beam and a high beam without directly moving a light emitting part and to provide the headlamp. <P>SOLUTION: An HID discharge tube 12, a reflecting mirror 14 movably arranged along the HID discharge tube 12, and a reflecting mirror 13 fixed to a unit case 11 are installed. The reflecting mirror 14 is moved with an electromagnetic solenoid 20 to change over the high beam and the low beam. When the low beam is set, a light beam is emitted by using a light emitting part in the low beam position of the HID discharge tube 12 as a light source S1. When the high beam is set, a light beam from the light emitting part of the HID discharge tube 12 is reflected by the reflecting mirror 14, and furthermore reflected by the reflecting mirror 13, and a virtual light source S2a is formed in the high beam position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
