摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently cool a liquid crystal display element and an optical element. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal projector device is equipped with a color separation optical system equipped with a light source, 1st, 2nd and 3rd reflection type liquid crystal display elements and a projection lens, and separating light from the light source to the light respectively corresponding to the 1st, the 2nd and the 3rd refection type liquid crystal display elements, and a color composing optical system composing modulated light which is the light separated by the color separation optical system and made incident on the 1st to the 3rd reflection type liquid crystal display elements so as to be modulated, and enlarges and projects the modulated light composed by the color composing optical system by the projection lens. In the device, the color separation optical system is equipped with a color separation mirror for separating the light to the 1st color component light corresponding to the 1st and the 2nd reflection type liquid crystal display elements, and the 2nd color component light corresponding to the 3rd reflection type liquid crystal display element.
