PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device, a process cartridge, and an image forming apparatus which allow the reduction of scattering powder during carrying by using ETH phenomenon. SOLUTION: In the developing device, a multiphase voltage is applied to carrying electrodes through common electrodes by a voltage supply means to form a carrying electric field and powder is carried to an area facing a latent image carrier by the carrying electric field, of a carrying member to stick the powder onto the latent image carrier, whereby a latent image on the latent image carrier is developed. In this developing device, space intervals between common electrodes and one ends of carrying electrodes are longer than intervals of carrying electrodes, so that toner is made to go inward in a lengthwise direction by forming an electric field gong inward. Therefore, scattering powder in the lengthwise direction can be prevented and the powder can be prevented from sticking to the common electrodes. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
