PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active pipe branching joint capable of improving cut-off work efficiency of unused branch pipes and capable of cutting the branch pipes short close to the active pipe branching joint, without hindering other plumbing works, etc. SOLUTION: A boring piston 11 is incorporated into a boring operation port 9 of a split joint 4 including an axial portion of an original pipe 1. A cutting edge part 12 for forming an eccentric bored hole 31 by shaving off part of a peripheral wall of the original pipe 1 along with lowering of the boring piston 11 is formed at the axial tip of the boring piston 11. In the boring piston 11, a through hole 13 is formed in the axial intermediate part, and an arcuate seal face 14 capable of closing the eccentric bored hole 31 is formed in a portion which is part of the outer periphery of the axial intermediate part and is eccentric from the through hole 13. With respect to inside of the boring operation port 9, the boring piston 11 is incorporated between a position making the through hole 13 corresponding to a branch pipe connection port 8 and a position closing the eccentric bored hole 31 on the arcuate seal face 14 to be rotatable around the axial center.
