PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiper motor with a speed reduction mechanism capable of reducing the gear collision noise when a wiper arm is inverted. SOLUTION: By moving an armature shaft 18 in the thrust direction by a position adjusting means 29, tooth flanks of worms 21, 22 are abutted on tooth flanks of worm wheels 23, 24, and tooth flanks of pinions 25, 26 are abutted on a tooth flank of an output gear 27, respectively, to absorb the backlash between the worms 21, 22 and the worm wheels 23, 24, and the backlash between the pinions 25, 26 and the output gear 27. Since a wiper motor 11 can be operated in this state, the gear collision noise when the wiper arm is inverted can be considerably reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
